The atmosphere at the Centre is peaceful and welcoming, making it conducive to effect group therapy and honest self-appraisal. I learnt more about my own condition and the effective treatment of addiction during my time at DayHab than I would previously have thought possible. While they did not shy away from providing “tough love” when required their approach was not punitive, unlike some other addiction treatment centres. Their compassionate approach encouraged honest self-reflection and allowed for healing to occur at an accelerated rate. Their insight into my condition showed a great depth of understanding, which I have not found anywhere else, and provided the most effective treatment I have ever received. The DayHab staff members are consummate professionals, and experts in a very specialized field. In my experience the effectiveness of the program is second to none, and I would not hesitate to recommend it to others. I am so grateful for my sobriety, one day at a time, thanks to Dayhab and the Program of AA".Īs a former client of DayHab, I write to express my support for the program and the staff involved in its administration. My life is so much better today without having to face my drunk self on a daily basis and I am sure this disease would have eventually led to losing my family, my friends and my self-esteem, if not my life!!!ĭayhab also offers a follow-up service once you have 'graduated' whether you do the 10 day program or the 28 day live-in program. If you are having an addictive problem that is challenging you, I would fully recommend Dayhab and AA in conjunction with one another. With the combination of counselling, looking in to myself and the AA Program I have come to understand that I needed to surrender to win!!! Alcoholism, like any other addiction, is so debilitating that without the help of Dayhab and the Program of AA I was on a very dangerous path and I have since learned that for me 'to drink is to die!'. As the Dayhab facility works in conjunction with the Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) Program of Recovery I was introduced to other alcoholics that understood me as other people without the disease of alcoholism can't. In hindsight it was a very good decision for me to live in for 28 days so that I had time to, firstly, detox from my so called-friend 'alcohol' and also to take advantage of the counselling sessions on offer at Dayhab. "I was 'admitted' to Dayhab on Monday,, not solely of my own volition, as alcoholics like myself find it difficult to admit, initially, that we suffer from alcoholism, but my family were so frustrated at my behaviour when I drank that they insisted I do something about it.
